{update from July 8th 2009}
Dear Mark and Deb Nelson,
I am writing this on Wednesday, here at FLY 2009. I have been having a great time here with lots of fun activities and awesome sessions. I would like to tell a little about what has been going on this week. The bus ride here was a good time to meet a few people, although it was a little long! We arrived here at the YMCA campground on Monday at about 3:00 PM. After checking into our dorms and having supper, we went to the evening service. The speaker was Wade Mobley and he preached on life’s most important question- “where do we go when we die?” It was a great message about God’s love and mercy toward us undeserving sinners. On Tuesday morning, I went to several sessions – some of which were our choice, Tuesday night, Eric and Leslie Ludy spoke about the importance of staying pure, and surrendering our lives to God. There is also a gathering each evening in which there is a video of the day and a whole lot of singing! My favorite morning session has been “Fact, Fiction, and Faith” by Ryan Patenode. He explained the importance of knowing the facts of creation so that when the evolution side of it comes along, we can stand firm, knowing the truth’s of God’s word. I am planning to play basketball with my brothers tomorrow in the three on three tournaments. It has been lots of fun! Thanks for your prayers and support!
